Apple Festivals

Drumheller’s Orchard has two apple festivals per year.  They always fall on the last weekend in September and the third weekend in October.  We have apples, apple butter, apple cider, local honey, side meat, country hams, cookbooks, pumpkins, and baskets.  Our apple cider is non-pasteurized, which means it’s just the juice from the apple.  There aren't any preservatives or additives in the cider.  We have had the same recipe for generations for our apple butter.  We have always made it here at Drumheller’s Orchard.  It has just the right amount of apples, sugar, and spices.  Our honey comes from a local farm here in the Shenandoah Valley.  The side meat and country hams are cured in southern Virginia.  We have been getting our meat from the same company for years and lets just say we haven't had many dissatisfied customers.

This is where the fun comes in!  We have a wide range of activities for all ages.  Such as hayrides to the pumpkin patch and corn maze, an apple sling shot, face painting, sand art, and moon bounce; just to name a few.  The corn maze is weather permitting.  That implies for the early months also.  If we have a dry summer our corn is likely not to grow, therefore there wouldn’t be a corn maze.  We’re sorry if this happens.  We have many arts and crafts vendors, from hand woven baskets to jewelry.  Last but not least there is always food and country music; only on our festival weekends.  Our local Ruritan Club has BBQ chicken, BBQ sandwiches, hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and drinks.  We also have vendors who has funnel cakes, pork skins, apple dumplings, and brunswick stew.

Please come and join us for a family fun festival day in the fall!
